Maria's Marinara Sauce

2 T. oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. dried basil
3/4 tsp. salt
3 lbs. crushed tomatoes

In a medium saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat, then add the onion, garlic, oregano, and basil. Saut
é until the onion is soft. Add the salt and tomatoes, cover, and cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Serve immediately over your favorite pasta or meat dish.
