Meatloaf, Marietta-Style

1-1/2 lb. meatloaf mix (ground pork, beef, and veal)
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1 large uncooked egg
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. minced onion
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
2 hard-boiled eggs, peeled

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease a loaf pan.

Mix all ingredients, except hard-boiled eggs, in a large bowl.

Spread half the meatloaf mixture into the bottom of the loaf pan. Position the hard-boiled eggs lengthwise in the center of pan, on top of the mixture. Gently push the eggs into the mixture, then cover with the remaining meat. Again, gently push the mixture evenly into the pan, making sure none of the egg is sticking out of the top.

Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour. Remove from pan, allow to sit for just a few minutes, slice and serve (in our house, with ketchup).
